Intro Session: Should I Start a Business or Get a Job?
October 5, 2021 @ 5:30 pm
“Should I start a Business or Get a Job?” This is a very common question among ambitious folks like you who want to make an impact, but may not know what route to take.
In this FREE virtual panel you will hear from three folks who have gone through this same fork on the road and made it out on the other side.
Trisha Abe (She/Her)
25 year old painter and muralist based in Kitchener, Ontario, Trish’s dive into the world of visual arts was sudden and intense. After not touching her art supplies for almost five years during her science degree at uWaterloo, Trish was desperately craving a creative outlet. Nearing the end of her degree, she turned to her paintbrushes to help bring clarity to her life and did a complete 180 from science to visual art after graduation.
Alexander Mistakidis (He/Him)
Alexander studied Computer Science at uWaterloo and co-founded Gamelynx before graduating. Gamelynx operated for 5 years, launching games and websites to over a million people after going through Velocity and Y Combinator. He is now working his dream job as a game designer at Riot Games, which he had originally turned down to grow Gamelynx.
Madi Fuller (She/Her)
Madi is a career coach, entrepreneur & 40 Under Forty recipient. She started her career as a student entrepreneur during her undergrad a Brock University where she built an award-winning ed-tech application. After deciding not to pursue her business further, Madi took the workforce by storm. She began by working at Niagara College and Brock University supporting student entrepreneurs and graduating students, and is currently a Career Success Specialist at Juno College.
