Hey there,

nice to meet you

Camelia Nunez

Director

I’m Camelia and I am the Director of Concept. I lead the Concept team to offer high-quality programs and resources to University of Waterloo students who are curious about entrepreneurship or aspire to take the startup path. What excites me most about my job is the opportunity to impact students’ lives on a daily basis–by giving them the skills to succeed! I have been a member of the University of Waterloo community for over a decade in a many different ways, and have first-hand experience launching and leading a venture. So I know the struggle and what it takes to succeed. Outside of work you’ll find me cooking, reading, traveling with my family, or enjoying my new deck!

Carly Cameron

programs lead

I’m Carly and I lead campus programming and events at Concept. I love implementing new and exciting programs that build students’ confidence so one day they can launch their own startup. Born and raised in the 519, my passion for sports helped me land a spot on the Western University softball team. Ultimately, I decided to go back to my roots and earned my Rec & Business degree from the University of Waterloo. Outside of work you can find me studying for my Masters of Economic Development or exploring the nearby trails with my golden pup, Tilly. Feel free to say hi and shake my hand, or Tilly’s paw.

I’m Alyana and I lead marketing and communications at Concept. I’m interested in all things creative, especially social media and design. I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Waterloo in Arts & Business! I enjoy sharing the success stories of student teams with the greater community and learning about new business ideas. Outside of work you can find me posting on @CuratedKW about food deals and events in the Waterloo Region (follow me to stay in the know!), watching documentaries, or strolling through farmers’ markets. I recently joined my coworkers as dog owners and got a puppy of my own, Teddy!

I’m Nick and I support the marketing efforts of Concept, spreading the word about exciting initiatives on campus and beyond. I enjoy graphic design, innovative ideas, and seeing what crazy new technologies the University of Waterloo students are working on. With over 5 years of experience in the world of marketing, I love launching new initiatives and creating a buzz. Outside of work you can catch me out and about with my dog, Dori, or enjoying patios and live music with friends. I manage multiple (highly-competitive) fantasy sports teams and play hockey and soccer (in real-life). If you’ve got insider info or under the radar sleepers, let me know!

Hannah Nunes

Programs coordinator

I’m Hannah and I organize and help execute all the amazing events for Concept. Everything that involves science motivates me and I. Love. Bats. My passion for science and the most amazing flying mammals led me to become a biologist focused on you guessed it, bats! As a person that truly values education, I’m excited about promoting different opportunities that help to enrich the academic experience. Outside of work you can find me traveling the world, hanging out with my friends and family, or following fashion trends.
